My Dad, My Hero Essay

When I think about what my hero means to me, I realize that most of my special memories and feelings toward my hero come from the little things he does everyday. My hero is not a celebrity or such a recognizable face. My hero is not a national hero or a multi-millionaire. He has never saved me from a burning castle or an avalanche, but he does hug me and tell me to have a good day. He doesn’t buy me expensive or fancy accessories, but he does whisper to me that I’m his special girl. He is just an average, quiet man, whom I honor and respect.

My hero is very hard working. He comes home around 5-o-clock at night and finishes any kind of paperwork he needs to finish for the day if any. He uses his intelligence at work for the many different things he knows about purifying water, and at home with ordinary things like helping me with my homework or fixing household appliances. My hero is also very supportive. He gives me one hundred percent support in helping me become an Information Systems Operator for my career when I graduate from college. Finally, my hero is very caring. He helps me with any problems I may have, and always tries to find time to spend with me, and if he can’t find time, he makes time.

My hero always puts one hundred and ten percent into being a superb person. He is there for me, whether it is to cheer me on at my sports games or to yell loudly at any workouts or practices I may have. The point is he would never miss these activities for all the money in the world because he wants to show his support for my efforts in everything I do. I know it is his way of showing how much he cares about me and how proud he is when I try my best. When I know he is there rooting for me, I try even harder to succeed.

There are a great number of special moments that I share with my hero. We both really enjoy playing and watching sports, particularly baseball and hockey. We often play catch or practice hitting in the backyard, just him and I. During these perfect moments, we talk about what is going on in our lives and often joke around with one another. It seems like we are in a whole different world when we talk. No one else is listening and it is easy to express ourselves and speak out our thoughts, especially those that we would not normally say when we were among other...
