Army War College Research Papers

First, the buttons above represent different access points to our collections. The main difference is that current USAWC students, faculty, and staff have access to databases and electronic journals that are not available to others because of strict licensing agreements with publishers. That being said, USAWC graduates and other patrons are free to click the blue button. The citations provided may prove to be helpful. However, be prepared to be denied access to full-text documents.

Second, in 2014, the library of the Military History Institute and the U.S. Army War College Library were merged into one library in two locations under the "U.S. Army War College Library and Archives" name.

Third, the U.S. Army War College Library is part of theUSAHEC, an integral part of the U.S. Army War College located one mile from the main campus. One of the U.S. Army War College Library's two locations (Root Hall) is on the main campus while the other (Ridgway Hall) is located on the USAHEC campus. Although the holdings in the two collections overlap in many ways, one useful generalization is that the Root Hall location supports the curriculum of the U. S. Army War College and the Ridgway Hall collection supports historical and archival research.
